Hello, Stranger...

It has been a long time!  A lot has changed in the couple of years I have been away, I had a baby, moved to a new house and the blog has gotten away from me. But now I an returning and hope to do better this time around.  The original creation of Monkey See, Monkey Bamboo did no pan out but now me and my friend Lindi Denmark are taking her in a new smaller direction.

This is our story:

We are two grade school friends that have a passion- addiction for finding and arranging beautiful things. We love anything ginger jar, Rose Medallion, Ming, Chippendale, or bamboo related. But we also like mixing these items with modern, fresh pieces for a well-rounded and curated look. We have packed our houses with so many goodies that our husbands and surfaces have had about enough! We continue finding wonderful things and now we would love to share them with you.

Pictured above is all the great finds from the last week.

Now we are going to use Monkey See Monkey Bamboo as an outlet to share our homes, shopping finds and decorating visions with anyone that is interested.  We hope you enjoy!

Reading Nook

If we every move and get a bigger house, I hope I have space for a reading nook or escape corner like this.  Love the gallery walls and color-the artwork is a little generic for me but I love the idea.  No boys allowed, I don't think they would be coming close to a room this pink anyway.

Classic Bookcase

I am a traditional girl and love color but I definitely appreciate this understated, perfectly accessorized bookcase and zebra chair. Oh so classic.

Cohesion

This apartment adheres to a bold color scheme and looks clean and crispy doing so.

Liveable Living Room

I am a sucker for the color green which is what initially attracted me to this room but I love how elegant yet livable this room appears. The soft and hard elements of the room are welcoming and inviting and the pink adds playful whimsy without being stuffy or too girly.

Mixing

I love this vignette, starting with the bold wall color and the way the parsons desk pops in pink....amazing.  The mixing of traditional elements like the fretwork stools and foo dog lamps with the rustic self and modern desk creates a sophisticated eclectic look. And mixing of textures adds layers: glass, brass, ceramic, wood, feathers- totally working! What do you think?
